Unsurprisingly, considering its size, an African elephant (Loxodonta africana) can drink up to 190 litres of water a day! Their trunks enable them to smell water from many kilometres away, and also to drink – by scooping water into their mouths. You can watch African elephant quenching their thirst in the safari destinations of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa.
