A Journey Of Masai Giraffe Walking The African Plains

Reaching heights of 5.5m (males) and 4.8m (females), the Masai giraffe (Giraffa tippelskirchi) is the largest subspecies of giraffe, and thus the tallest land animal on the planet. The males tip the scales at 1100–1900kg, while the females weigh 700–1200kg, making them the fifth heaviest. Although once found throughout Africa, due to poaching and a loss of habitat you can now only see them on safari in Kenya and Tanzania.
