The African elephant (Loxodonta africana) is comfortable in a variety of habitats – including dense forest, open and closed savannah, grassland and arid desert – and often moves between them. They’re also flexible with altitude and latitude, roaming mountains and beaches from the northern tropics to the southern temperate zone.You’ll see elephant on safaris in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa.
