9-Day Botswana | Fly-in Chobe National Park, Savute, Okavango Delta & Moremi

On arrival at Kasane International Airport you’ll be met by a representative and transferred by open game-drive vehicle to Chobe Game Lodge, located inside Chobe National Park. Settle into the lodge and join in on the scheduled meals and safari activities for the day.

Awaken to the sounds and smell of the bush. After a quick beverage with some rusks, muffins and fruit, head out on your morning safari activity. After breakfast, back at the lodge, you have the option of joining a mid-morning Chobe River safari. Later, lunch will be served at the lodge, and then you can rest or enjoy the lodge facilities and surroundings. Afternoon tea will be served on the open-air patio, followed by your afternoon activity. You’ll arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up and enjoy dinner.

Depart Chobe Game Lodge and transfer by open game-drive vehicle to Kasane International Airport in time for your 30-minute light-aircraft transfer to Savute Safari Lodge. From the airstrip, it will take about 25 minutes by road to the lodge. Lodge activities are organised around game drives throughout the Savute area. Many trips will incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh, to give you a chance to see the Savute Channel against a backdrop of teeming wildlife. You can also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills – a small hilly outcrop that forms a prominent landmark in the otherwise flat landscape.

After an early morning wake-up call, enjoy a light continental breakfast followed by a three-to-four hour morning activity. Brunch will then be served, after which you’ll have time to relax and take in your surroundings. Afternoon tea will be served on the open-air patio, followed by your afternoon safari activity. You’ll arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up and enjoy your dinner.

Catch your scheduled light-aircraft transfer from Savute Safari Lodge to Xugana Island lodge, which should take approximately 45 minutes. From here you’ll take a 20-minute boat transfer to camp, where you can enjoy a number of wonderful activities, such as game viewing, walking, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephant, crocodile and countless species of bird.

Catch your light-aircraft transfer from Xugana Island Lodge to Camp Xakanaxa in Moremi Game Reserve. This flight will take a very short 10 minutes. On arrival, take some time to settle in, dine and then start to explore the area by way of the lodge’s scheduled safari activities.

Begin the day with an early morning wake-up and a light continental breakfast, followed by your morning safari activity. Brunch will be served, after which you’ll have time to relax and take in your surroundings. Afternoon tea will be served on the open-air patio, followed by your afternoon safari experience. You’ll arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up and enjoy dinner, which will be served in the dining room at the lodge.

Today brings you to the end of your safari. You’ll enjoy breakfast at the camp and then embark on your light-aircraft transfer from Camp Xakanaxa to Maun Airport, for your onward travel arrangements.
