Take in three safari hotspots in two different countries with this eight-day safari. Start off in Zimbabwe, where you’ll discover all the excitement of Victoria Falls. Next, you’ll cross the border into Botswana, and spend some time game watching in Chobe. Finally, you’ll head to the Okavango Delta, where the focus is on game viewing from the water, on mokoro trips.
After clearing immigration and customs on arrival into Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Here the rooms all have private balconies, most of which overlook a central waterhole, offering the opportunity to observe herds of buffalo, elephant and kudu as the sun goes down, as well as hyena later in the evening.
The day is yours to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the variety of activities around Victoria Falls, such as a tour of the falls, where you can witness ‘The Smoke that Thunders’(additional cost), a canoe trip along the mighty Zambezi (additional cost) or a microlight adventure over the falls (additional cost), to name just name a few. Today you will be transferred to Chobe Game Lodge, located inside Chobe National Park. Settle in, relax at the swimming pool or on the outside terrace of the stylish bar while you take in the magnificent views of the Chobe River before you join in on the meals and safari activities for the day.
Awaken to the sounds and smell of the bush. After a quick beverage with some rusks, muffins and fruit, head out on your morning safari activity. After breakfast back at the lodge, you have the option of joining a mid-morning Chobe River safari. Later, lunch will be served at the lodge, and then you can rest or enjoy the lodge facilities and surroundings. Afternoon tea will be served on the open-air patio, followed by your afternoon activity. You’ll arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up and enjoy dinner.
Today you will be transferred to Kasane Airport for your scheduled flight to the Okavango. Upon arrival, you will be met by a guide who will transfer you to the Camp Okavango for your three-night stay. Here you can begin to explore the waterways and surrounding islands from the comfort of a modern motorboat or explore the intricacies of the Okavango Delta the quiet old-fashioned way, in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe).
Rise and shine, it’s time to explore the Okavango Delta. After an early morning wake-up call, enjoy a light continental breakfast followed by your morning activity. Brunch will then be served, after which you’ll have time to relax and take in your surroundings. Afternoon tea will be served on the open-air patio, followed by your afternoon activity. You’ll arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up and enjoy dinner.
Today, spend the day at your leisure. Choose to unwind at the lodge, looking through your photos or catching up on some reading, or go out and enjoy the lodge’s safari activities, discovering all the Okavango Delta has to offer. Meals will be served at the lodge, as usual.
Today brings you to the end of your safari. You’ll enjoy breakfast at the camp and then embark on your light-aircraft transfer from Camp Okavango to Maun Airport, for your onward travel arrangements.
