You’ll never forget your arrival from Maun to Chobe National Park, as your flight descends into this wild place. Your three nights overlooking the fascinating Savute Channel will pass in a daze. Another light aircraft will whisk you back to the Okavango Delta, to the western edge of the game-rich Chief’s Island where you’ll explore the delta’s channels and islands by mokoro and stalk game on foot with your private guide.
Upon arrival in Maun, you’ll be met by a representative, who will assist you to the light aircraft and onwards air transfer to Camp Savuti. Camp Savuti is a 20-minute game drive from the Savuti airstrip in Chobe National Park. Here you can experience game drives, and in between relax in the comfortable open lounge, bar, dining area and fire pit, all overlooking the Savuti Channel.
Enjoy the activities, including morning and afternoon game drives through the park and along the fringes of the channel and marsh. The game-viewing vehicles are open to facilitate game watching and photography, and your guide will delight in showing you the beauty and diversity of Savuti’s natural wonders.
Spend the day at leisure, enjoying the lodge, game activities and all that the surrounding area has to offer. This camp offers superb game and birding-viewing and the open area around the marsh is truly spectacular.
After breakfast at Camp Savuti, you will depart by light aircraft to Camp Delta. Dine in the elegant dining room overlooking the sweep of the delta, viewing the surrounding floodplains and the wildlife that abounds. Take a picnic lunch and go out for the whole day by mokoro and foot, wandering some of the many nearby islands for a secluded and intimate experience.
Spend the day at your leisure, exploring and enjoying all that the camp and its surrounds has to offer. Delta Camp’s guests enjoy the luxury of their own private guide. Spend your days in his mokoro, gliding through the floodplains and channels, and walking under his guidance on some of the many islands in the area, taking in the magnificent scenery and light as well as the abundant game and birdlife of the Okavango.
Once again, spend the day at your leisure, exploring and enjoying all that the camp and its surrounds has to offer. The emphasis in Delta Camp is on peace and tranquility (stalking game on foot provides the excitement). If you haven’t been yet, you are actively encouraged to visit the local village, home to the guides, and to interact with the people there.
Enjoy an early morning safari, after which breakfast is served. Depart Delta Camp via light aircraft for your light aircraft flight to Maun, for your onward journey.
