Welcome to Zambia! You’ll be met just after immigration, on arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, by a representative, who will assist you with your bags and check-in to a scheduled flight to Mfuwe Airport. On arrival at Mfuwe, you’ll be met by a guide who will transfer you to Mfuwe Lodge. Here you’ll have the chance to freshen up, and be briefed on the next four nights. A three-hour game drive will then take you to Chindeni in the southern part of the park.

Whether you’re in the mood for intrepid exploration or perhaps some more sedentary wildlife viewing, Chindeni will deliver. Avid game viewers and birdwatchers can set out on superb walking safaris, game drives, night drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area. Or you can just park yourself in a deckchair at camp and watch the abundance of game that’s drawn to the lagoon.

Today you’ll take a walk in the wild to Kapamba Bushcamp, arriving in time for brunch. Enjoy the day at leisure, watching the frequent wild visitors to the river from the multi-level main deck, or from the comfort of your own private verandah or pool-size bathtub. You can also look forward to enjoying sundowners in the river as well as bush dinners.

Get out into the bush and explore the rich diversity of the surrounding area on a morning walking safari, and then later in the day, jump into a Land Rover for an afternoon/evening game drive. When the weather is right, you can spend siesta time in the Kapamba River, right in front of camp!

Today you’ll be transferred to Mfuwe Lodge to freshen up, and then on to Mfuwe Airport for your scheduled flight to Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi. On arrival, you’ll be met by your guide, who will drive you through the park to the camp. The drive is approximately one hour, depending on game sightings en-route. Here you can enjoy two daily game activities, inclusive of boat cruises, one free fishing excursion, canoeing, walking safaris and game drives.

As one of your game activities today, you could explore the main bank, islands and channels in the lower Zambezi River by boat; the most comfortable way to discover the wildlife, plants and birdlife that live around the river, you can gaze as they graze, play, drink and raise their young. From crocs and hippos to fish eagles and buffalo, make the most of the Lower Zambezi National Park with a refreshing sundowner in hand with a delicious assortment of snacks.

Today you could start your day off with a walking safari, leaving first thing in the morning to take advantage of the cooler weather – a fantastic way to acquaint yourself with all the wonders around you. Enjoy your siesta time followed by an afternoon activity.

Enjoy your morning safari activity and end the day in an open 4×4 safari vehicle, exploring the Lower Zambezi National Park when the sun sets. Tending to be lazy and lie around during the day, the big cats are easier to spot as they wonder around in the dark of night, hunting their prey. This will be a drive to remember, from the sounds of the African bush to the stars of the southern skies.

Today you’ll be transferred to Jeki Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Livingstone. On arrival, you’ll be met by a driver who will take you on a 30-minute road transfer to your camp, where you’ll be able to experience two in-house activities daily, including a guided tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian or Zimbabwean side, day time and sunset cruises, fishing, a game drive in Mosi-oa Tunya National Park, a walk with the rhino, a Livingstone Town and shopping tour or visit a local school and village trip.

Today as one of your in-house activities, you could take a tour to a World Heritage Site! Victoria Falls straddles the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia and is the most expansive curtain of water in the world. View its roaring waters, spectacular spray and a small rainforest that clings to the falls’ edge, with a variety of mammals and birds. You could also get to know the town and visit the local museum, markets and shops to get a glimpse of historic and modern Livingstone or visit the local village and school to learn about the people and culture of this part of Zambia.

Try your hand at tracking rhino at Toka Leya, an exciting way of getting up close and personal with these endangered animals. Zambian Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) scouts monitor the rhino 24 hours a day and therefore the animals’ whereabouts are always known. Travel to the location by vehicle and then track the rhino on foot, accompanied by the scout. Why not end the day on a sunset cruise? Take in the scenic views and exciting wildlife from the comfort of a spacious boat. There’s always an abundance of hippos and crocs, as well as a few other surprises along the way.
