This 11-day bush-and-beach break combines South Africa and southern Mozambique. Start with a bang with three nights of game viewing at Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Two flights will then get you to the beaches of Ponta Mamoli, where you’ll spend four nights. A road transfer will then take you to Phinda Private Game Reserve for three nights before you head back home – invigorated and delighted.
Welcome to Johannesburg! You’ll be met on arrival – as you disembark the aircraft or airport bus, depending on if the aircraft is in the terminal or on the apron – and assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You’ll then be shown to your onward light-aircraft shuttle flight to Ulusaba Airstrip in Sabi Sand. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a shared road transfer to Savanna Private Game Reserve. Here you can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and bush walks.
Spend the day at your leisure, gourmet dining and game driving …or why not do a walk? The walks generally take place in the area around the lodge in between game drives and meals, but if you prefer, a longer walk can replace a drive or be incorporated as part of a drive. The thrill of quietly approaching game while on foot, of close encounters with the smaller creatures – and the myriad wild flowers and beautiful butterflies they attract in summer – brings an added dimension to the magic of an African safari.
Learn from the experienced and dedicated game rangers and trackers while they impart their amazing knowledge of the bush and wildlife. The game drives allow you to unobtrusively enter and observe the wild. Land Rovers have been specially modified for guests’ comfort and safety with bucket seats, separated by large storage boxes. The afternoon game drive includes a stop for sundowners while marvelling at the splendour of an African sunset, and the absolute tranquillity of the bush. On the morning drive, there’s a tea/coffee stop with the famous Savanna Amarula Hot Chocolate or Coffee, a highly recommended alternative for the more adventurous at heart.
Enjoy breakfast, then depart Savanna Private Game Reserve by shared road transfer to Ulusaba Airstrip for your shared light-aircraft shuttle flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Here you’ll embark on a fixed-wing sky transfer to Maputo International Airport, from where you’ll embark on a shared 4×4 road transfer to White Pearl Resort.
Spend the day at your leisure. Fixed schedule activities include beach picnics, beach sports, town tours, turtle walks (seasonal between November and February), kayaking, surfing, shoreline angling, guided lake walks with sundowners, cultural village tours, fat bike rides, beach boot camps, kids’ Skipper Club, stand-up paddle boarding, local drumming performance, snorkelling off the beach, star- and moon gazing.

Take a dip in the plunge pool, or stretch out on one of the beautiful oversized day beds or comfortable loungers while you indulge in a refreshing cocktail – with views over the great expanse of ocean and white sands. Experience delightful breakfasts, rustic tapas, exclusive dinners and heavenly desserts.

Today after breakfast, depart White Pearl Resort in a private road transfer, headed for Phinda Mountain Lodge. It will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, via Kosi Bay Border Post. Here your activities will include scheduled safari activities and a one-hour nature walk accompanied by an armed guide (subject to availability).
