11-Day Kenya & Tanzania | Private Guide Amboseli National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park & Masai Mara National Reserve

After your long-haul flight, catch your breath by staying in Nairobi for a night. Then it’s time to start your safari by driving out to Amboseli, where you’ll spend two nights with the elephant. A scenic day trip takes you across the border into Tanzania, where you can explore the Eden-like Ngorongoro Crater during your two-night stay. Next, move on to the Serengeti for two nights, enjoying fantastic game viewing, before flying back to Kenya for your last three nights in the Masai Mara.

Breakfast will be served at your hotel before you set off in your 4WD vehicle with your safari guide, towards Namanga. Enter Amboseli National Park and enjoy game viewing on the way to your safari lodge. Be in awe of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, which provides a spectacular backdrop on your afternoon game drive. Return around sunset, with time to freshen up before dinner.

Set off on your early morning game drive, hoping Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-covered peak is clear and uncovered. Return for a late breakfast with the remainder of the morning to relax at the lodge. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game drive around the many lakes and springs fed by Kilimanjaro’s melting snows in search of Amboseli’s legendary elephant herds. You’ll be invited to plant an acacia tree as part of the Amboseli Reforestation Project and thereafter return to your lodge for dinner.

After an early breakfast, return to the border town of Namanga, where you’ll enter Tanzania. Your Tanzania safari guide will meet and transfer you to Arusha for lunch, then take you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll arrive at your safari lodge late afternoon, in time to enjoy the sunset and have a marvellous dinner.

After a very early morning descending the narrow track to the crater floor, enjoy a picnic breakfast. Then your game drive commences, along the myriad tracks on the crater floor – an exceptional experience in this magical setting. The crater floor is a mini biosphere with a multitude of animal and bird species, including the black rhino. In the early afternoon, ascend back up the narrow track to your lodge for a late lunch with the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner is served in the restaurant.

Today you cross the adjacent Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing Olduvai Gorge, the fascinating archaeological site, en route. There’s an optional visit to the local museum, before you enter the vast Serengeti National Park. Here you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing on your game drive towards your safari lodge.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the sanctuary with your safari guide. Serengeti is world famous for its annual wildebeest and zebra migration, when nearly two million animals traverse the open plains in long columns searching for fresh grasslands. The finally turn northwards towards the Masai Mara in Kenya, but the game viewing in the Serengeti is amazing any time during the year.

After breakfast, take a transfer to the local airstrip where you’ll board your light aircraft and fly over the Serengeti, landing to clear immigration and customs in Kenya before continuing to the Masai Mara. Your Kenya safari guide will meet you on arrival and take you on a game drive as you make your way to your safari lodge, arriving in time for a late lunch. After a late afternoon game drive, return to your safari lodge for dinner.

Enjoy a full day of exceptional game viewing in the Masai Mara following herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland, topi, impala and many other species. Herds of giraffe and elephant create a magical silhouette against the treeless savannah. Your safari guide can arrange an extended game viewing drive, travelling further into the sanctuary far away from the other visitors and vehicles and visitors. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning late afternoon to your safari lodge.
