Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before embarking on a road transfer to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to Samburu. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and taken on a leisurely game-viewing drive to Elephant Bedroom Camp, nestled in a riverine forest along the banks of the Ngiro River.
Climb aboard the 4×4 safari vehicle for a day of game-viewing activities amidst Samburu’s stunning landscapes, featuring dry plains, winding rivers, and the majestic backdrop of Mount Kenya. Between thrilling game drives, unwind at the camp’s plunge pool or relax in the vibrant safari-style lounge, where you can watch elephants, monkeys, and impalas that frequently visit the camp.
Start your day with an early breakfast as you leave behind the rugged terrain of Samburu, passing through charming rural towns and lush agricultural areas on your way to Ol Pejeta, a private wildlife sanctuary with impressive views of Mount Kenya. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a unique lunch spot and a photo opportunity at the equator. By late afternoon, arrive at your safari camp, where you can relax on the deck with a cold drink before dinner is served.

After returning to camp for lunch, relax or participate in optional activities such as visiting the endangered species enclosure. Enjoy breakfast, then depart for the Great Rift Valley, the location of some of the oldest, largest and deepest lakes in the world. The alkaline shallow soda lakes of Lake Elementeita and Lake Nakuru are famous for their flamingo flocks, which gather to feed and breed along the lakeshore. After lunch, spend the afternoon at your leisure at your safari lodge.
Your safari guide will arrange a day of exploring to suit your preferences before you return to your lodge. You may visit nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its flamingos as well as a breeding sanctuary for the endangered black rhino, white rhino and the rare Rothschild giraffe. Alternatively, travel further north to another Rift Valley lake, Bogoria, for some great bird watching. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your safari lodge for the evening.
Departing the scenic Rift Valley after breakfast, you’ll pass through local towns and villages, glimpsing the daily life in rural Kenya and the richness and variety of Kenya’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. The landscape will transition to the vast, open savannahs characteristic of the Maasai Mara as you head towards your destination. You’ll arrive at Mara Ngenche where you can settle in, relax and prepare for the incredible wildlife experiences that lie ahead.
Enjoy exceptional game viewing in the Masai Mara, with the opportunity to follow herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Watch giraffes and elephants as they create a magical silhouette against the treeless savannah – you may even be lucky enough to spot one of the big cats stealthily stalking its prey.
